It’s Not a Prank, It’s Harassment
What stands out to me is the parent. 21-year-old Tanner Cook’s YouTube page is called Classified Goons. He sneaks up on unsuspecting people, and this time he got shot. The news said allegedly. It wasn’t alleged, it was on camera. Y’all see how the news be conflating. I literally saw the guy get shot.
And this is why I tweeted: another dreary-eyed sober parent. Why do all these straight laced parents who don’t smoke, who don’t drink, who don’t take drugs, have dreary eyes, always have these weird out of control children? And why do you look sleepy like that? It’s like Blueface’s mom. Don’t his dad look like one of those people that would get on your nerve in fifth grade? It’s just a prank, man. This man, to me personally, he’s not ashamed or sad or double thinking where did I mess up.
Precedent has been set. I’m big on precedent. These aren’t pranks, this is harassment. When did it leave prank land? When everybody started doing it. A prank is a one-off haha hehe thing. It’s very very unexpected. But when everybody is in fear of an average stranger walking up to them… This person is not going to do anything to me, they just want to help me get something off the top shelf, but I’m so hesitant because of all of this stuff, I have a different reaction. Like, oh, what do you want? Who are you?
That’s what’s going on. People are being harassed. It’s not a prank, it’s harassment. It was a prank when people weren’t getting upset, when it wasn’t so many people doing it. This has crossed over from it’s just a prank bro to it’s harassment, because too many people are doing it. It’s not unique. And so all the rest of us normal people have to keep looking over our shoulder, because we are in fear for our lives, being filmed unnecessarily, because we don’t want to be filmed.
Everybody do it for street cred. The chasing the algorithm is street cred, because it cycles back down into the gutter, at the bottom of the dumps of the hood and the barrel down there, and then it starts to cycle out of the barrel, then it gets to the bell curve. By the time it gets to the bell curve, the rest of the world called it trending. See streetwear. And then after it gets out of the barrel and goes mainstream, then we have a lot of imitators and copycats. But it’s still doing it for street cred, and it just makes you feel like it’s all just trash behavior. Context, context, people.
A precedent has been set, so don’t be surprised.
