The Civility Lies in How You Got Them Off the Street

April 6, 2026

The news people went in trying to find drama amongst the homeless, and this is what they found instead. These are the stories that they don’t want us to see when the news comes to town. There used to be something called ambulance chasers, people who only chase bad stories and horrific things, kind of secretly hoping that bad things happen so that they can have a story. Well, now they’re fishing.

This is classic human behavior. They have found a way to cope with the homelessness as civil as possible, more civil than even calling in people to come shoo the people off the street. Just because the area is clean… The civility lies in how you got the people off the street. It’s not in the fact that you got them off the street. This ain’t China.

They were trying to bring the news people over to glamorize the bad things that’s happening in the homeless community, but the people, like I said, are very very civilized, and they’ve been doing their own thing. There’s other ways to deal with stuff. And if you treat homeless people like trash, y’all already know how I think: what does that make you? If you don’t want them touching you, run away, but don’t treat them like trash. Ignore them. They want to be ignored. Give them that. I feel like homeless people wanting to be ignored is more civilized.

Sometimes they get rid of homeless people, you don’t know what happened to them. Are they taking these people underground? Where are the homeless people that they push off the street? What happens to the homeless folk? That’s my question. That’s a good question.
