Perspective Is Not the Truth
Let’s have a quick discussion on perspective. This cannot be stated enough. I’m going to give an example. A lady goes to her favorite restaurant. On this night there happens to be a bridal party. Husband and wife, everybody’s dancing, eating, having fun. She frequents this spot. She goes there every day for happy hour. It’s about 50 to 100 people here having their party, and she walks in, and it kind of takes her back. It shows on her face. Oh, there’s more people here. And other people look like, oh, we saw that face you made.
She sits at her favorite spot. She got this red dress on, black pumps. My imagination, y’all, it’s crazy. And she orders fish. She having a cocktail on top of this. She’s having red snapper. It’s delicious. The plantains is hitting. She got that escovitch going on over there. Delicious. She finishes up, her song came on, and everybody starts talking, because now the whole place smells like fish.
Perspective, people. Your perspective is not the truth. Your perspective is a point of view. Their perspective is not the truth. It’s a point of view, reference. It’s not even a thing until both of them come together, and then we get the truth. You ruined our day. This fish smells horrible. Girl, that is not the order with a bridal party. You can eat whatever you want, but all things considered, you could have got something else, because now the whole restaurant smells like fish. She’s in there balling out, having a good time, minding her own business, only focused on her perspective, which is fine, but reality is there were other people there.
You are not ugly if people have been complimenting you your whole life. Perspective. You look in the mirror, you see something butt bum booty ugly, but your whole life people have been complimenting you on this one thing, or they say the same thing over and over and over again. I never thought I was cute. I thought I was sexy. I never wanted to be cute, but people always say you’re cute and sexy. I didn’t think they went together. I always thought it was one or the other, but apparently I am.
When you have a hundred percent view, total perspective, reality, you’ll move different. If you have a low self-esteem and people have been praising you your whole life on so many different things and aspects about yourself, it is disrespectful to the truth for you not to consider what they’re saying. It is what it is considering all perspectives, and you move from there. Some people, if they hear people complimenting them on so many different things about themselves, they embody that energy regardless of what they might think about themselves. They take on what other people say and it makes them better, because they considered reality for themselves.
Consider reality. Reality is not one perspective. You know this because you can see the ass from the front, but as soon as you go around you will see the totality of the situation. Angle, viewpoint. Watching a game, some big burly muscular guy comes and sits in front of you. It’s not totality. Your perspective is skewed. Even the artist knows to step back from the canvas. Step back when you’re doing your makeup. You know damn well that mirror, you got it in your face, you gotta move it back, so that you can get a true perspective.
So I’m just asking everyone out there who can hear my voice: never, never, especially when it’s on the downturn, take your own perspective. On the down perspective, bring in some more reality. That means consider that you’re on Earth and there are other things going on, and there may be other opinions and there may be other viewpoints that maybe you’re not considering. Anything else is stubborn. It’s just stubborn, and a preference for ignorance. People don’t know their potential, that’s all, because they’re only considering a stuck point.
