The Fool Is the Most Courageous Card
I don’t know why people talk about the Fool card as if it’s the number one. You can’t say that about a person who is putting it all on the line, taking what little that they know, whether it be a zygote or an actual living human being planning to move across the world. The Fool card is one of the most courageous cards in the deck. Even just looking at the card: foolhardy, taking a chance on life. Most people never do. They are bound to the block.
The Fool card does not just care about the regular mundane everyday stuff of life. The Fool card has a vision, a dream, foresight. The Fool card has dreams. The Fool card has potential, and is optimistic and open to opportunity. The cliff be damned. That’s why it’s a Fool card.
He’s not dancing. He’s walking over a cliff. And if you have some intuitive property, you will see the little dog right there, either getting ready to go over the cliff or trying to get the Fool’s attention. You don’t know. It all depends on who you’re reading for. That is what your intuition needs to kick in for, and that is why you can’t depend on or create a crutch.
We know that’s a vagabond. That stick has everything that the Fool feels like he needs. It’s a small thing, so there’s no burdens to carry. And we know the person, whether 20, 25, or back in those days, is setting out, and they put everything that they felt like they needed in that pouch.
The Fool is not the Magician. Where’s all the cards in between? It is the next step, but it is not the same person. How did he become a magician? Through the human experience. That is where your intuition, that is where you are the divine, that is where you start to make it make sense. Because if you just go by how the cards are laid out, there’s a lot of missing movements.
The Magician becomes the High Priestess? Ain’t no way, unless they have a sex change. That is why it is dangerous to try to create a story between each card, when they are each their own principle. The High Priestess and the Magician are on equal playing fields. You might be in Magician mode at work, and High Priestess mode around family, and you might be in Fool card mode at the club. They’re each their own thing.
