The Good Man Who Still Can’t Afford You

February 7, 2022

When it was finally time to move, you know, you move, and then y’all supposed to go up in lifestyle. Between the two places that we moved to, both of them were so bad, I couldn’t even tell you which one was worse. And I’m not saying this at the person, which is another way leveling up goes wrong. When they’re a good person, you accept what it is that they offer you, because they’re a good person. So we’re not talking about dusties and dirtbags. We’re talking about genuine, honest men who still can’t afford you. Hmm. That’s the thing. That’s when leveling up goes wrong.

I couldn’t believe we were moving to the same block. That is crazy, because I used to tell all my friends, uh uh, girl, if y’all gonna move, then y’all need to all the way move. And here it is, my time to move on out of this neighborhood, level on up out of this neighborhood, and he don’t wanna look. Don’t put yourself through that if he doesn’t wanna go up, regardless of whether he’s a good man or what. How good can he be if he can’t change your life for changing his own, doing something different?

Some of these men, they just refuse to do anything different, and so neither one of y’all grow, because you’re the woman, you just gonna receive whatever he gives. And according to Shira, being the football coach is a no, no. You can’t be like, come on, honey, you can do it. She said you’re supposed to let him be a man and go out and seek his own partners. The goddesses of old, it doesn’t matter the color, they did not struggle behind men with good potential. That’s when leveling up goes wrong. Because he’s a good guy, and he’s so nice. But guess what? As soon as you start living a different way, like dressing up, trying to start your little business, some of them, the nice guys, they don’t support. They don’t even know how to level up themselves. How can they show support when you start to be successful?

I think of leveling up as, if you got a strong mind like Shira and the rest of them, you can do it in stages. Like start with a guy who makes 100,000 a year, then go to someone who makes 200,000, 300,000, 400,000. Because if he makes anywhere around 60,000 to 70, even sometimes 80,000 a year, his money will be tied up in 401K, bills, probably prior children, family members. And it also matters if they’re from another country, because those people have to send money back home. Depending on where you come from, the mentality of the person, they might want more, but they can’t stretch their brain around making more.

You know how you have those friends where you like, oh girl, we should start a business together, and they are completely turned off? Like, oh gosh, I couldn’t possibly imagine running a business, having employees. Some men are like that too. That’s why there’s no use in motivating them, pushing them. Let them do it, and tell them good job and how good they did. It gives you wrinkles to try to motivate a man. You have to motivate him and have sex with him too? Oh my goodness, it’s too much work. You should reap the benefits and then have fun.

A man like that, he is ready to just live out the rest of his life the same way you found him, and you’re not the one to make them level up and change. You’re wasting your time, because it’s true, he’s a man, he’s gonna do what he wanna do. He’s at will to do whatever he wanna do, and everything else is a luxury.
