I Can’t Wait to Be 50
I wanted to show y’all this, and then we’re gonna get out of here. It’s about maturing, to me, looking at how all the different people sit. So there go toddlers, preteens, teenagers, people in their 20s, and the people in their 30s. As you can see here, I feel like each posture speaks to patience, boredom, and the opposite: important, got-something-to-do-ness. And all of these sitting positions that he’s showing, I see that the older these men in the barbershop get, the more relaxed in themselves that they become. A couple of them look like posture for show, but I think what it is is actually just how they’re comfortable sitting. Because look at the 40s.
And the 50s is the most confident. I can’t wait till I’m 50. I know what is coming down the road, you guys. I couldn’t wait to be 30-some-odd years old. I can’t wait to be 50-something-odd years old. Seriously. I already know what’s coming. I know what’s coming down the pipeline. And y’all people, y’all ain’t hiding nothing. Y’all can fool these young people around here, but y’all ain’t fooling me. I see how good y’all got it, in the mind and the heart and the spirit and the body, and I can’t wait to be like that.
